AKHNOOR, June 7 -- In a significant step towards improving animal healthcare and farmer support in the border belt, MLA Akhnoor Shri Mohan Lal on Saturday laid the foundation stone and kickstarted the construction work of a Veterinary Hospital and Residential Quarters in Pargwal.
With a project cost of ?66 lakh, this facility is expected to benefit more than 25,000 residents of Pargwal, the majority of whom belong to the farming community and are dependent on livestock for their livelihood. The initiative is particularly crucial for this border area, where cross-border shelling has previously led to loss of livestock and injury to animals, causing immense hardship to locals.
