MENDHAR, Feb. 1 -- In a major breakthrough against vehicle theft, Mendhar Police today apprehended two individuals involved in a series of motorcycle thefts, leading to the recovery of three stolen motorcycles and one car. The arrests were made following a well-coordinated operation based on specific intelligence inputs.
Acting on credible information, a special naka (checkpoint) was set up at Aangaala Chowk, where alert police personnel conducted thorough checks on passing vehicles. During the operation, two youths were intercepted while riding a motorcycle without a registration number plate. Upon being stopped, they were asked to produce valid documents for the motorcycle but failed to do so, raising immediate suspicion.
