Jammu, Nov. 27 -- In the wake of complaints of "corruption and administrative inertia", New Delhi has decided for a major crackdown on the "deadwood" in the administration.

Sources said New Delhi has already prepared a list of the deadwood, which includes some senior officials in the civil and police administration and that the matter was discussed threadbare with the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha during his recent trip to the national capital.

Sources say Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was personally interested in a "strict action" against the officials, whose conduct "could by any means sabotage the essence of good governance."
