Jammu, Sept. 28 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dropping Ram Madhav from the list of its office bearers is a significant development besides being a national general secretary as he was party's point man for Jammu and Kashmir.

Decision of the BJP high command to drop Madhav has left his disciples in J&K shell shocked. Many leaders in Kashmir enjoyed Madhav's patronage and they were surviving in the party due to them remaining in his "chatra-chaaya."

The decision to exclude Madhav from the list of the office bearers has triggered speculations that a section of leadership within RSS was unhappy over the party's performance in Kashmir and the recent goofing up of the matters in union territory of Ladakh.
