JAMMU, Sept. 6 -- Acting swiftly on consumer complaints, Deputy Controller Legal Metrology Enforcement Jammu has booked three traders for indulging in overcharging and short weighment. The action was taken under the direct supervision of Controller Legal Metrology, Rajinder Singh Tara.
In one instance, a departmental store was caught charging Rs 5 extra over the Maximum Retail Price (MRP). At Jumbo Zoo, a consumer was overcharged under the false pretext of GST. In another case, a rice seller was found supplying underweight rice bags.
