Srinagar, Sept. 11 -- J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today expressed their gratitude to the Railway Ministry for launching a dedicated parcel train service from Budgam in Kashmir Valley to New Delhi for the transportation of apples.
The service, beginning September 13, is expected to ease the logistical challenges faced by fruit growers and ensure faster delivery of apples to national markets. The inaugural loading of two parcel vans carrying apples from Budgam commenced today.
The announcement of dedicated parcel train service from Budgam was announced by Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw.
