JAMMU, April 4 -- Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta has expressed strong disapproval of the opposition's reaction to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025 passed in the Parliament. The bill received approval from both houses of Parliament, with the Lok Sabha passing it on April 3, 2025, and the Rajya Sabha following suit in the early hours of April 4, 2025.
Speaking at the meeting held here today, the BJP stalwart emphasized that the amendments are designed to enhance transparency and accountability in the management of Waqf properties, which have historically been susceptible to mismanagement and corruption.
