SRINAGAR, Jan. 8 -- Officers and officials of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) have gone into 'surrender' mode following 'hands up' by Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu. The 'surrender' has complicated the problems of city residents as the snow has not been cleared from majority of main roads, lanes and by-lanes.
The SMC had issued a press release on Wednesday (January 6) saying that the Corporation is ill equipped to clear the snow from the roads, lanes and by-lanes from the Srinagar. This is despite the fact that most of the roads in the city are meant to be cleared of snow by the Roads & Buildings (R&B) department.
