Jammu, June 3 -- The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has launched a comprehensive desilting action plan to clean stormwater drains and nallahs across all 75 wards in preparation for the upcoming monsoon season. The initiative is aimed at preventing flash floods and waterlogging that typically affect residents during heavy rains.
The first phase of the desilting drive began on 15th March 2025 and will continue until 20th June 2025. This timeframe ensures that potential damage from the season's first rainfall is minimized.
