JAMMU, April 5 -- In a major crackdown on illegal mining, Jammu Police has seized 189 vehicles and imposed fines totaling Rs 30.46 lakh during the first quarter of 2025 as part of its intensified efforts to protect natural resources and curb environmental violations.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh, special drives were launched across Jammu District from January 1 to March 31, 2025, targeting individuals and entities involved in unauthorized mining operations.
