JAMMU, April 11 -- In a major success under the ongoing Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu & Kashmir Police have intensified their efforts to curb bovine smuggling in the region. Acting swiftly on a tip-off, the police team from Police Post Pounichak intercepted a vehicle and successfully foiled a smuggling attempt at Pacca Gharaat, Gole Gujral.
The team rescued 30 bovines from a vehicle bearing registration number JK02 AC 7818, which was being used to transport the animals illegally. However, the driver managed to flee the spot, evading arrest.
Following the incident, a case has been registered under FIR No. 94/2025 at Police Station Domana under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Anima...
