JAMMU, May 1 -- Continuing its crackdown under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sub-Division Nagrota have foiled two separate bovine smuggling attempts, resulting in the rescue of 36 bovines and the seizure of one vehicle.

In the first incident, a police team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli intercepted a Jonga 709 load carrier bearing registration number JK02DB/1712 at a naka point in Panjal. Upon inspection, 11 bovines were found crammed inside the vehicle without any valid documentation. The driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle and the animals. The bovines were safely rescued and the vehicle was seized.
