JAMMU, March 18 -- The Indian Army today solemnly paid tribute to Second Lieutenant Ashok Prahladrao Mutgikar, 7 Grenadiers (now 9 Mechanised Infantry), who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, displaying exceptional bravery and leadership in the face of adversity. The 1971 Indo-Pak War remains one of the most defining conflicts in modern South Asian history, leading to India's decisive victory and the creation of Bangladesh.
