RAJOURI, April 23 -- To commemorate World Earth Day, the Indian Army at Samote organized an Afforestation Drive aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and raising awareness about ecological conservation. This initiative is part of the Indian Army's ongoing efforts to combat deforestation and enhance the green cover in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The event saw a remarkable show of participation, with 15 service personnel and 20 local residents coming together to contribute to the cause. A total of 18 saplings were planted across the region, including tree species such as Bamboo, Acacia Glauca, and Senegalia Catechu (Khair).
