ANANTNAG, June 27 -- A COVID-19 positive pregnant woman was operated for cesarean section on Saturday weeks after the authorities in South Kashmir's Anantnag district established a separate facility for coronavirus infected pregnant women.

Dr Fozia Jan, senior gynecologist and consultant at MCCH Anantnag who led the team which carried out the delivery said the baby girl was born on Saturday afternoon through C-section and is doing fine so far.

"She gave birth to a female baby and both are doing well as of now," she said.

The 33 year old pregnant woman from Dooru Anantnag was operated on Saturday at around 2:30pm, Medical Superintend Maternity and Child Care Hospital Anantnag-Mir Ji Andrabi told Early Times.
