Srinagar, Jan. 3 -- In the year 2025, Jammu and Kashmir Police registered around 1,000 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and arrested nearly 1,400 individuals involved in the illicit narcotics trade.
An official said that J&K Police acted tough against drug peddlers across the Kashmir division in 2025. "As part of a multi-pronged strategy to curb the growing drug menace, police placed about 170 habitual drug offenders under preventive detention under the PIT-NDPS Act, aimed at disrupting organised networks and repeat offenders operating in the region."
