JAMMU, July 5 -- In a significant crackdown on bovine smuggling under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu Police successfully thwarted two separate attempts at illegal Cattle transportation during routine naka checking on the National Highway (NHW) in the Nagrota area, rescuing 34 bovine animals.
FIR No.141/2025 and FIR No.145/2025were registered at Police Station Nagrota under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (PCA Act).
The accused in these cases have been identified as:
1. Babur Chaudhary, S/O Mohd Hussain, R/O Maraliyan, Miran Sahib, Jammu
2. Zakir Hussain, S/O Ahmad Ali, R/O Khanpur, Nagrota
3. Bashir Ahmed Kichloo, S/O Haji Abraham, R/O Khanpur, Nagrota
