LEH, Jan. 15 -- In a humanitarian initiative reflecting its enduring commitment to the people of the nation, the Indian Air Force (IAF) commenced a civilian airlift operation under Operation Sadhbhawana on 06 January 2026 to provide critical connectivity to the remote Leh-Ladakh region. Due to heavy snowfall and prolonged closure of arterial roads, surface connectivity between Leh-Ladakh and other regions of the country is severely disrupted, resulting in hardship for local residents. Responding swiftly to the emerging situation, the IAF activated its airlift resources to ensure safe and timely movement of stranded civilians.
