Jammu, Aug. 14 -- In a proud moment for the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the nation, nine IAF officers have been conferred with the Vir Chakra, India's third-highest wartime gallantry award, for their daring and precision-led airstrikes deep inside Pakistani territory during Operation Sindoor.

The decorated officers include the fighter pilots and mission commanders who executed high-risk air operations targeting terrorist headquarters in Muridke and Bahawalpur, as well as striking key Pakistani military infrastructure - marking one of the most audacious cross-border air offensives in recent times.
