Jammu, June 30 -- In a major breakthrough in the fight against narco-terrorism, Punjab Police, in collaboration with Rajasthan Police and the Border Security Force (BSF), uncovered what is being described as one of the largest-ever heroin recoveries from the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan's Barmer district.
A total of 60.3 kilograms of heroin, valued at approximately Rs.420 crore in the international market, was seized in the operation on Mo nday.
Nine individuals involved in a transnational drug syndicate have been arrested. The accused hail from Punjab, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, and Haryana, underlining the widespread domestic network of the smuggling ring.
