JAMMU, Feb. 18 -- In a major relief for government employees, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has enhanced the maximum limit of Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity (DCRG) from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh for staff drawing regular pay under the 7th Pay Commission. The revised ceiling has come into effect from January 1, 2024, following the increase of Dearness Allowance (DA) to 50 per cent of basic pay. According to a circular issued by the Principal Secretary, Finance, the gratuity ceiling will automatically rise by 25 per cent whenever the Dearness Allowance increases by 50 per cent of the basic pay.
