JAMMU, March 19 -- Women Development Cell in collaboration with Career Counselling and Placement Cell of GDC Sidhra organised an awareness lecture on "Three New Criminal laws" with an endeavour to educate the students about new laws. The program was organised as per the directions received from Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, UT of J&K.

India replaced its colonial-era laws with a set of three new penal laws. The Indian Penal Code of 1860 is substituted by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita(BNS), the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1973 gave way to the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 was replaced by the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).
