Poonch, May 30 -- From the border frontline of Poonch, Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that the Indian Armed Forces gave a strong and effective response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. He said Operation Sindoor was launched to specifically target and destroy terrorist infrastructure across the border.
Shah clarified that the operation was aimed solely at terrorist camps and did not target Pakistani civilians or military personnel. However, he condemned Pakistan for retaliating by shelling civilian areas.
"Pakistan committed a highly condemnable and inhuman act by carrying out intense shelling in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Poonch," Shah said while addressing a public gathering.
