Jammu, March 2 -- Fearing backlash, Congress high-command is unlikely to take any action against party stalwart Ghulam Nabi Azad at this crucial juncture when many senior leaders are openly supporting him.

Although Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief G A Mir and other factions are annoyed over Azad's heaped all praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party leadership is looking all pros and cons before taking any step.

Reliable sources said that G-23 leaders rallied behind Azad is a clear indication that it was not easy for the high-command to seek explanation or take any unilateral action against former leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha.
