The repeated queries forwarded by transport officers from various districts of Jammu region, regarding scale of road tax to be charged from old vehicles as well as transferred ones, have yet to be responded, thus leaving thousands of vehicles without any registration.

Sources in Transport department informed Early Times that for the last over four months, since state government had imposed road tax of 9-10 % on all type of vehicles, the officials from various districts have been sending written communication, seeking clarification over scale of tax imposed on old vehicles as well as those vehicles, which were to be transferred.
