UDHAMPUR, Feb. 28 -- District Magistrate Udhampur, Saloni Rai, has ordered the closure of two marriage halls and one resort for violation of pollution control norms.
In accordance with directives from the J&K Pollution Control Board and with approval of the competent authority, the DM invoked Section 33(A) of the Water Prevention and Control of Pollution Act, 1974, and Section 31(A) of the Air Prevention and Control of Pollution Act, 1981, along with Section 5 of the Environment Protection Act, 1986, against Raghunath Palace, Thappa Palace, and Bharat Resort within Udhampur District.
