REASI, Feb. 18 -- Under the guidance of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Reasi Khalil Choudhary and Secretary DLSA Reasi Pooja Gupta, an awareness programme on the 'Prohibition of Dowry and its Legal Implications' was conducted today by the Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Katra at Panchayat Karua.
The programme aimed to sensitise local residents about the adverse impact of dowry on families and society. The PLVs explained how the practice leads to exploitation, harassment, domestic violence and crimes against women. Emphasis was laid on promoting gender equality and respecting the rights of women.
