Jammu, Sept. 4 -- In view of the rising water levels in rivers Tawi, Chenab and adjoining nallahs due to continuous rainfall, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat visited several flood-affected areas of Jammu district to take stock of the situation and review ongoing rescue operations.

A police spokesman in a statement said that the DGP was accompanied by DIG JSK Range Shiv Kumar, IPS, SSP Jammu, and SP Rural.

Amid heavy rainfall, the DGP visited Mangu Chak, Makwal, Miran Sahib, Domana and other vulnerable locations where he met Police officers, SHOs, SDPOs, SDRF rescue teams and Jawans of Jammu Police engaged in relief and rescue work.
