SHOPIAN, Feb. 27 -- The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the holy month of Ramadan.
The DC directed KPDCL functionaries to ensure uninterrupted power supplies especially during Iftar and Sehri times, also emphasising Jal Shakti department to provide potable water to the public.
To regulate market practices as per the standards, the DC instructed Officers to intensify the joint market checking by teams already in action and take strict penal measures against violations of over pricing, illegal practices and non compliance to rules.
Furthermore, the DC stressed the importance of sanitation and cleanliness at places of worship and congregation sites.
