SHOPIAN, Feb. 8 -- District Level Narco Coordination (NCORD) meeting was held here today in Mini-Secretariat Shopian, under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta.
On the occasion, department wise action plan were assessed and directions were issued to strengthen the fight against drug abuse.
DC emphasized the critical role of departments, including police, education, excise, drug control & health, in combating the rising menace of drug abuse and directed the departments to take more cogent measures against the menace. Importance of keeping close vigil on poppy cultivation areas and taking strict action against the cultivators and the dispensing of scheduled drugs in the district was deliberated for action.
