Jammu, Sept. 2 -- Relentless rainfall has thrown life out of gear in parts of Jammu Division, prompting the Directorate of School Education, Jammu (DSEJ), to order the closure of all government and private schools across the region on September 3, 2025. The decision comes amid mounting concerns over rising water levels, flash floods, and growing threats to infrastructure and public safety.

Heavy and continuous rains over the past 24 hours have led to a significant rise in the water level of the Tawi river, especially in the Udhampur and Jammu districts.
