Jammu, Jan. 6 -- Amid growing resentment and discontent within the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Congress following the recent appointment of district presidents, the party high command has stepped in to contain the fallout and restore internal cohesion.

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has tasked its General Secretary in charge of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Naseer Hussain, with engaging disgruntled leaders and workers to address their concerns. Dr. Hussain, a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, is expected to hold one-on-one meetings with party leaders who have expressed dissatisfaction over the appointments.
