Jammu, Feb. 15 -- A month after party leaders blamed him for the historic defeat of the party in the Assembly elections, Congress high command ultimately succumbed to the pressure of the "genuine workers" and removed Bharatsinh Solanki from the position of the AICC in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir Congress.

The Early Times in its January 15 edition reported that some Congress leaders without mincing any words blamed Solanki for the party's humiliating and historic defeat in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

For the first time in the political history of Jammu and Kashmir, the Congress secured the lowest ever six seats in the assembly elections.
