Jammu, March 6 -- Amid reports that Congress MLAs will corner the National Conference-led government on unfulfilled promises, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday met with all the six MLAs of the grand old party to keep them in good humour to ensure smooth functioning of the ongoing budget session of the Assembly.

Although both parties sought to downplay the meeting, sources said that the ruling National Conference is seriously thinking of offering the Deputy Speaker's post to its coalition partner Congress, which has six members in the Assembly.
