JAMMU, May 3 -- Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta has hailed the Modi Government's decision to impose a complete ban on the import and transit of goods from Pakistan, terming it a strategic and timely move in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
Speaking after the meeting held at Party headquarters in Jammu, the BJP stalwart said the terror incident in Pahalgam, which led to the loss of innocent lives, has once again exposed Pakistan's deep-rooted involvement in sponsoring cross-border terrorism. "This ban is a firm and appropriate response. The message is clear-India will not maintain any form of engagement, even trade, with a country that harbours terrorism," he stated.
