JAMMU, Nov. 21 -- Continuing its crackdown on bovine smuggling under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu (Rural) Police foiled a smuggling attempt in the Jhajjar Kotli area.
A naka was established by Jhajjar Kotli Police. During checking at the naka, the police team intercepted a canter vehicle bearing registration number JK02CR-7445.
Upon thorough inspection, 07 bovines were found being transported illegally in the said vehicle. All the animals were rescued safely, while the driver of the vehicle, Shakeel Ahmed S/O Ghulam Ahmed R/O Kalyanpur, Jammu, was arrested on the spot.
In this regard, FIR No. 135/2025 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli. Further investigation is underway.
