BANDIPORA, Jan. 2 -- Authorities on Friday restored regulated vehicular movement on the strategic Bandipora-Gurez road from the Gurez side, providing temporary relief to locals who had been facing connectivity issues due to adverse weather conditions.

Officials said that following improvement in weather and completion of essential clearance work, controlled movement of vehicles was allowed from the Gurez side towards Bandipora. The decision was taken after assessment of road conditions and safety parameters, particularly in snow-prone and avalanche-vulnerable stretches.
