Srinagar, Feb. 13 -- In a major anti-corruption action, the Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday trapped and arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police Station Bemina while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a complainant, officials said.
In a statement, Anti-Corruption Bureau received a written complaint alleging that Mukhtar Ahmad Khan, Assistant Sub-Inspector, R/o Newa Pulwama, who was the Investigating Officer (IO) of FIR No. 88/2025 of Police Station Bemina, Srinagar, had demanded illegal gratification from the complainant despite the case having already been challaned before the competent court.
