Jammu, April 27 -- Even as two arch-political rivals Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti joined hands to oppose any move to delay polling on the prestigious Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat, the ruling BJP is optimistic that elections will be delayed.

Highly placed sources said that inclement weather conditions in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir have rekindled the hope of BJP leadership that the elections will be postponed.

"Our stand has been authenticated as most of the roads have been closed due to the inclement weather", a BJP leader said and pointed toward the Mughal Road which is also closed due to heavy downpours.
