ANANTNAG, Feb. 3 -- Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Anantnag Police arrested a drug peddler along with contraband. Police Station Pahalgam established a naka at Kullar Hirpora, where a suspicious individual attempted to flee upon noticing the police party. The person was immediately apprehended and later identified as Basit Iqbal, son of Mohammad Iqbal Shah, resident of Hirpora. Upon search, a bag containing 5.120 Kgs of Bung Boosa like substance was recovered from his possession. In this regard, Case FIR No. 5/2026 has been registered at Police Station Pahalgam under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway.
