Jammu, Sept. 4 -- Following a brief respite from heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours, reports have emerged of sinking land and hills in several hilly areas of Jammu province.
Authorities and local residents have raised concerns as the phenomenon poses a risk to life and property in vulnerable regions.
According to reports, multiple areas in the Jammu region have been witnessing ground subsidence since the downpours stopped. In particular, higher reaches of the Akhnoor subdivision have reported signs of sinking land, with visible cracks and slippage in slopes.
