KATHUA, Feb. 2 -- In a significant development, the Court of Adjudicating Officer, Additional District Magistrate Kathua, Ranjeet Singh, has taken decisive action against Food Business Operators (FBOs) for violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act-2006.

A total fine of Rs 159,000 has been imposed on several manufacturers, wholesale dealers, and retailers during the proceedings related to the cases in Bani, Basohli, and Kathua blocks.

The penalties were levied in response to the contraventions of the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act-2006 by the traders of aforementioned areas.
