Banihal, Dec. 3 -- Ramban Police, continuing its sustained drive against drug abuse and narcotics trafficking, achieved a major success when Police Station Banihal arrested an accused during routine naka checking and surveillance. The arrested individual has been identified as Saqib Bashir Bhat, S/O Bashir Ahmed Bhat, R/O Bhat Mohalla Khunmoh, Tehsil Pantha Chowk, District Srinagar.
During the checking, the police team recovered 14.62 grams of heroin-like substance from the possession of the accused. The contraband was seized on the spot as per legal formalities, and FIR No. 128/2025 was registered at Police Station Banihal under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
