ANANTNAG, June 13 -- Despite spending a whopping amount of over rupees 4 Cr, the Lift Irrigation Scheme in Khiram (Khudpora) village of South Kashmir's Anantnag district continues to remain non-functional.

Villagers have now asked the authorities to expedite the process for making the scheme functional so that it can irrigate the designated area and prove somehow beneficial for the people.

They said that the scheme was commissioned in 2013; however it didn't function for a 'single day'.
