Jammu, July 8 -- Six alleged drug peddlers were arrested with heroin in Udhampur, Jammu and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Tuesday.
Arun Choudhary, a resident of Krowa, was arrested after 5.81 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession near the Tawi bridge near Jaganoo on Tuesday morning, a police spokesperson said.
He said the narcotics were recovered after a patrolling party noticed Choudhary moving around suspiciously and frisked him.
Three drug peddlers -- Arun Singh of Rajiv Nagar, Mohd Rustam Shah of Baramulla and Rubel Sharma alias Chinko of Talab Tillo -- were arrested from Jammu bus stand, Nowabad and Bahu Fort, respectively, late Monday, the spokesperson said.
