JAMMU, April 10 -- As part of the intensified Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully foiled three bovine smuggling attempts in Sub-Division Nagrota, rescuing 55 bovines and seizing three vehicles.
In two separate operations conducted by Police Station Nagrota at Naka Ban Toll Plaza, 36 bovines were rescued from vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19/9416 and JK02CD/0130. One smuggler, identified as Mohd Rafiq, son of Mohd Shafi of Chamalwas, Banihal, was arrested, while the driver of the second vehicle managed to flee.
In a parallel operation, Police Station Jhajjar Kotli rescued 19 bovines at Naka Point Panjal from vehicle JK20C/6359. The driver fled the scene, evading arrest.
