JAMMU, July 4 -- In a continued and focused drive against illegal mining, Jammu Police has once again demonstrated its commitment to protect public resources and curb environmental exploitation. From 01 January to 30 June 2025, a total of 367 vehicles involved in illegal mining were seized across the district. Out of these, 311 vehicles were released after due legal formalities, and fines amounting to Rs 61,90,316/- were imposed on violators during this period.
Among the seized vehicles, four were found to be repeat offenders, each seized for the third time for illegal mining activities. These vehicles were booked under the Mining Act U/S 4/21, and FIRs were registered under FIR Nos. 27/25, 143/25, 94/25, and 112/25. In accordance with leg...
