Dehradun, June 26 -- At least two people have died and 10 others are missing after a bus with 20 people onboard fell into the Alakananda river in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district. Eight people have been rescued, as the police and the State Disaster Response Force are conducting relief work.
According to preliminary information, the bus was going uphill towards Badrinath when the driver lost control and the bus fell into the river. Police and disaster response teams rushed to the spot and started the rescue work. Local residents are helping them. Some of the injured have been brought out and shifted to hospitals. Many of those rescued had jumped off the vehicle before it fell into the river.
