Udhampur, April 27 -- In a major crackdown against the illegal transportation of livestock, Udhampur Police rescued 15 bovines and arrested two individuals in the Majalta area today.

Acting on specific inputs, a police team from Police Station Majalta, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), was conducting routine vehicle checking at Baryalta area when they intercepted a group of bovines being transported on foot. Upon inquiry, it was found that the accused were moving the animals towards the Kashmir Valley without any valid permission.
