A Kashmir doctor, who had joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to allegedly benefit his family owned hospital has quit the party, with political circles calling him "Matlabi doctor."

The doctor, who was among four leaders who quit the PDP on January 10, a day after a team of politicians called on the visiting Ambassadors in Kashmir, had joined the PDP around four years ago.

Sources said the doctor had joined the PDP and was behaving like "Chamcha" to get his family owned hospital in south Srinagar reopened. It is pertinent to mention that the then government led by PDP had sealed the private hospital following deaths of patients.
